Loki was really not fucking around for his safety was he?
- Gets Thor’s coronation ruined, since Thor would have been a shitty king at that point
- Tells the guard to tell Odin they’re going to Jotunheim
- Even after flipping out, realizes Thor’s actions screwed their peace
- SO HE BETRAYS AND KILLS HIS NATURAL FATHER TO REASSURE THE PEOPLE
Of course then he decides he’s the “rightful king” of Asgard and tries to kill his brother and destroy Jotunheim to stay that way, which is not so cool.

You think you know pain? He will make you long for something as sweet as pain.
So I’m reading a fan fic that’s pretty decent with the Not Really Redeemed Loki, just Playing Nice For Now. He’s still on his own side, in other words. I can see him working with the good guys long enough to get Thanos off his back, that is to say.
But HELL even when he was “good” he fucking RUINED THOR’S CORONATION with FROST GIANTS. There were things he could have done that would have been less of a big deal, if he didn’t want Thor crowned.
(Although, I can just see Loki going to talk to Odin, all “Are you mad, Thor will be a terrible king!” and Odin is all TALK TO THE MISSING EYE KID.)
Power doesn’t corrupt nice people that easily, in other words. And Loki was never nice. He was lying to everyone throughout Thor, even before the revelation.

Pretty much.
Sure, I think Loki is redeemable, because I think most non-psychopaths are redeemable, but that arc is for slash fic, not the movies. Normal people get pissed off if their parents lie about adopting them, but they don’t um, try to kill their brother usually.
But I do think Hate and Love are the same sides of a Really Intense Feeling. The true opposite of love is indifference.

I watched the animated film that was made in 2009,Tales of Asgard, and it’s fairly cute. Thor and Loki are just under the age of majority and decide to go on a quest to prove they are Men. They hit Jotenheim where the Heroes 3 and Thor are bitching about the cold constantly, and Loki doesn’t understand why they think it’s cold…
Anyway no Hiddles but still enjoyable.
